Invisalign & Clear Aligners
What is Invisalign, also known as Clear Aligners Technique (CAT)? Invisalign is a technique that moves and aligns teeth using a series of custom-made, clear trays. These trays are created by the Orthodontist using special software. You will change out the trays on a schedule to ensure your teeth are moving little by little until they are in their straightened, final positions.
Why choose Invisalign/clear aligners?
There are many advantages to Invisalign/aligners. First, they are invisible and removable, which means you can still eat and drink what you want during treatment. Another positive is that you can keep brushing and flossing the way you are used to. This treatment is also very comfortable. In addition, since you will be provided with your aligner trays, you don’t have to spend as much time in the office getting adjustments or dealing with snapped wires or broken brackets.
How does Invisalign work?
Each set of aligners is worn for about two weeks. (Remember, you’ll see the best success if you only remove them to eat, drink, or brush/floss your teeth). As you replace each aligner tray with the next one, your teeth will move until they are in their final positions. Once every six weeks or so, you’ll visit us to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. The number of aligners for a typical treatment is between 30 and 40, and treatment usually takes nine and 15 months – but treatment does vary from case-to-case.
Invisalign for Teens
Since the aligner trays are smooth, clear plastic, your friends might not even notice you’re wearing them! Invisalign treatment is designed to be virtually invisible. You can keep confidently showing off your smile every day, knowing that your teeth are slowly moving into place. Invisalign for Teens, are also completely removable, which lets you still eat all your favourite foods. You can also easily keep brushing and flossing normally. If you need to remove the aligner trays to safely play your favourite sports or play musical instruments, you can also remove them to ensure you can focus on doing what you love to do.
